Product Review: Using Engagor for Social Media Monitoring and Analytics
Engagor is a relative newcomer on the social media monitoring and social media management scene, but is definitely one to watch. Since the Belgian outfit was founded last year, the company has started to raise its profile – so we took a look at what they have to offer.
Social Media Monitoring
One of the first things to strike us with Engagor was its excellent usability. The monitoring options were clearly and logically laid out, making it easy to get started, target searches and generate reports.
Behind this apparent simplicity though, lies a powerful monitoring tool. While monitoring tools have traditionally separated out listening for brand mentions across the wider web from conversations that happen on your Pages or via your accounts, Engagor combines the two into the same app. And it works. It makes you wonder: why haven’t more platforms done this before?
Engagor monitors for brand mentions that are accessible publicly, such as Twitter, blogs, news sites, forums, LinkedIn Groups and the public parts of Facebook. It also enables you to add your own accounts, so that you can easily monitor and engage with your own social media connections.
Among the most useful monitoring features is the advanced search option, which makes it easy to filter out the conversations that you’re really interested in. After selecting the keywords or phrases you want to investigate or disregard, you can geo-target your search, select which platforms to monitor, and select from over 60 languages. This is presented through the usual graphs and charts that show trends, influencers, demographics, sentiment, source and type but like most superior analytics tools, Engagor allows you to dig deeper by focusing in on any spikes, anomalies or points of interest with one click.
As well as monitoring conversation and buzz, Engagor offers pretty extensive social media analytics to help you manage your social media activities and improve your strategy. Although there are other platforms that offer more extensive analytics, this is a useful addition to a monitoring tool and we reckon it will be sufficient for most businesses.
Like all the best social media engagement tools you can instantly respond to mentions and leads within Engagor itself, or assign tasks to team members. This is ideal for companies with multiple team-members or departments involved in social media. Keeping track of on-going conversations and ensuring that the appropriate team member is the one responding (tech support, sales or customer service for instance) is obviously essential for maintaining high quality customer engagement. It’s also possible to set different admin roles so that responses can be drafted, edited, approved or deleted by team leaders.
An impressive line up, including: Red Bull, Suzuki, Carlsberg, PWC, AXA, Volvo, Guylian, Johnson & Johnson, Jupiler and Microsoft.
Engagor looks to be well suited to medium and large-sized Enterprises, with prices ranging from €250 to €1700 per month. The Basic package offers 2 user accounts, 5 topics, 25 social profiles and a maximum of 300k mentions and at €250 is reasonably priced. The Standard package (apparently the most popular option) is priced at €450 per month. For larger companies, the Professional package is available for €1000 and the Enterprise package is a substantial €1700 per month. The company offers a free 10 day trial
Engagor is an easy-to-use and effective monitoring solution. Although out of reach for most SME’s, it’s fairly priced and must be a serious contender for medium and large sized enterprises seeking a social media analytics platform. With the capacity to monitor conversations, manage teams and engage through one platform, Engagor will give businesses a valuable edge on social media.
